credit score 650 (UK)?

Hi, I live in the UK and have a credit score of 650, which is considered poor! all of my past credit problems are about 5years ago (so should come off my credit report next year) as i was made redundant and didnt have payment protection! i kept my creditors informed at all times and paid the balances off as soon as i found work, but my credit score took a big hit! since then i keep all my accounts up to date and never miss payments. im now pregnant and want to clear all debt (which i have almost finnished doing) but I also want to make a purchase and there is an offer for 9months interest free credit with a company called V12 finance, do i have any chance of being accepted ? (as this means i can spread the payments and make sure its paid before the 9months are up and not pay any interest) i dont want to apply to be rejected as i know this can make your score worst! is there any way of improving my score quickly ? :o)
